| American Democracy Legal Fund (ADLF) President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement on new reports that Senator Richard Burr sold his townhouse above market value to a lobbyist campaign donor who had business before his committee: “It seems a day can’t go by without a new corruption scandal from Senator Richard Burr. These latest allegations against Senator Burr follow a bombshell report last month that he used inside knowledge to dump almost $2 million dollars of stock while he was downplaying the dangers of coronavirus to his constituents. Now, we learn Senator Burr received a sweetheart real estate deal from a donor who had business before Senator Burr’s committee. Senator Burr is a corrupt politician who was caught red-handed using his office to enrich himself. He’ll have his day in court, but in the meantime he has no business serving in the United States Senate. He must resign now.” |
