ADLF Calls For FBI, Manhattan DA’s Office to Investigate Apparent Fraud, Asset Inflation at Trump International Golf Courses

Today, the American Democracy Legal Fund sent letters to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance calling for the entities to investigate the Trump Organization and its international golf courses for apparent fraud and asset inflation. The letters show that Donald Trump and his organization are reporting inflated incomes to U.S. entities – in an attempt to paint the business as more profitable – and deflated incomes to United Kingdom and Irish regulators.

ADLF President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement calling for the investigation:

“If we’ve learned anything over the last five years it’s that Donald Trump and his cronies can be counted on to play fast and loose with the books. Our research has uncovered numerous examples of the Trump Organization reporting potentially fraudulent financial details to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics in addition to apparent inconsistencies, misstatements, and lies in President Trump’s Annual Financial Disclosure filings regarding its overseas golf courses. The American Democracy Legal Fund is providing both the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations our research in order to help with any current or future criminal investigations into Donald Trump.”
